Maurizio Benazzo

Maurizio grew up in Genova, Italy, where he spent the early part of his adult life working for the local government creating internationally renowned social centers, and writing about education and pedagogy. It was also at an early age that he began actively traveling the spiritual path, exploring the practices of Zen Buddhism, Transcendental Meditation, Yogic philosophy, Catholicism and Philosophy.

In 1985 Maurizio set out to cross the Atlantic Ocean to reach the United States on the Leudo ”Felice Manin”, a 98 years old Lateen sailboat. The journey took four months and landed Maurizio in New York City where he remained for 17 years, pursuing a career in television and motion picture production. He has experience in all aspects of production both in front of and behind the camera, including acting, directing, cinematography, and distribution.

 

Ralitza Stoeva (Zaya)

Ralitza Stoeva graduated from SFSU with MA in Radio and Television. Hailing from Bulgaria, she has produced and directed several award wining documentaries in Europe and the United States, including Energy for Survival, Hunger Gathering, Airwaves, Wings and Strings, Screeming Queens, America's Chemical Angels and some more.

For the past 10 years Ralitza has been also working as a Senior Web Designer/Multimedia Producer for multiple companies and clients. Ralitza is experienced in all the aspects of Web multimedia production and development, from format conception, shooting, editing, encoding and publishing videos on the web. She is currently working as multimedia producer for IDG corporation. Prior to joining IDG she has worked four years for Clarent Corporation as senior web developer. Other clients include BBC, IBM, KQED, NRC, Chreschendo Studios, Palo Alto Media Center, SFSU.

Zaya’s dream is to create media that will contribute to the expansion of human awareness and deeper inner silence.

 

Philip Safarik

Philip is an Italian-American filmmaker who grew up in Rome and relocated to San Francisco in 1994 to pursue Film Studies.

After graduating from the Academy of Art University with a BFA
degree in Motion Pictures & Video in 2001, he’s been working as a freelance cameraman and editor in the Bay Area gaining experience on short and feature length independent films, documentaries, music and event videos, commercial, corporate and instructional videos…

He collaborated with several cutting edge Bay Area production companies, and award winning filmmakers, and in 2004 his documentary “Burning Man – The Floating World” won the Best Documentary Award at the DIGIT Festival in NY.

Philip's dream is to direct documentaries that will expand people’s consciousness, and promote social, cultural and environmental change. He currently works mainly in the HD realm as freelance cameraman and editor.
